Mrs. G's Online Rules
Respect: I expect you to be polite, kind, and appropriate at all times. Remember that I, Mrs. Good, will view all comments. Make sure the tone of discourse is civil. If you wish to share your opinion or disagree, there are ways to do this that invite intelligent debate. In that same vein, remember you are representing your school when you post here, and you may not criticize other groups, schools, or organizations in the name of your school.
Inclusion: Anyone is welcome to comment or join a discussion as long as he or she is respectful.
Safety: Be cautious about revealing private details on web sites. Don't use your full name, first name and the last three digits of your student ID (Candace123) will be sufficient. While this is a password-protected site, it is digital information that anyone could copy and forward. Anything you type into a digital forum may last forever, so respect your own and others' privacy.
Decorating your personal space: Please, no gross, immoral, or irreverent photographs. Also, don't put up a background that makes your text hard to read. Communication is a primary purpose of this site, and dsign should enhance rather than obstruct communication. Do not link to your personal blog or website (including: MySpace, Facebook, Flickr, Sonico, Tagged, Vox, Windows Live Spaces, or other web site); this is an academic assignment on a site for academic discourse. Therefore a level of professionalism will be maintained.
Formality: The level of usage here is "standard written English"-- used in business, government, and education for everyday work. No texting abbreviations. Use complete sentences and standard spelling.
Anyone who breaks these rules can be banned at the teacher’s discretion. Students who are banned cannot receive credit for the work their peers are doing on the website.
